Who We Are & What We Do

Here at Rentshield, we understand our customers’ needs, whether it’s an agent looking for a referencing service that suits their business, or a tenant looking for a policy that is exactly right for them – that’s why unbeatable customer service is at the heart of everything we do.

When we started up in 2005, we decided that each and every one of our customers would get the service they deserve, at a price that’s fair. We became the FACE of tenant referencing as we provided a Flexible, Attentive, Customer Experience; and our values and commitment to customer service haven’t changed since then.

In 2010, we became part of Barbon Insurance Group, the largest tenant referencing and specialist lettings insurance company in the UK. We’re still a local company drawing on over 10 years of experience, but with the expertise and knowledge of Barbon Insurance Group at our fingertips, providing comprehensive tenant referencing services and associated insurance products throughout the South West and the rest of the UK.

And in 2018 we were awarded a place in the Sunday Times 100 Best Companies to Work for. Ranked based on honest feedback by our staff on a variety of criteria, we’re delighted that our team value us as much as we value them.

‘Working as a Referencing Administrator for almost three years has been one of the most insightful roles I have had. I enjoy liaising with our agents and learning about all the different types of property and clientele we work with. Educating agents about how to put a reference onto the system to get the best results is really rewarding as you feel a great sense of pride in being at the start of the tenancy journey. I also love helping agents reach a solution if they face a problem. Inbound calls have to be my favourite part of the working day as they are always so varied and a bit like ‘pick and mix’, you never know what type of call you are going to take. The best thing about Rentshield is the staff. I have made some brilliant lifelong friends and have some great times here.
